Moreover, it seems that Google is also providing manufacturers with technical assistance so that they can include the operating system and apps in their devices and this is a move that is aimed at increasing the use and popularity of this OS.

It is estimated that there are over 550,000 new Android phones, which are being activated every day and this makes it one of the fastest-growing phones in the market. Today, Android phone users have grown to over 130 million and this is expected to continue increasing in the future.
Since Google controls advertising content on the devices that use the Android operating system, this could be another reason why Google promotes free access to its OS with some of the revenue earned by Google being shared with manufacturers and cellular carriers.
